D-MARİN TURGUTREİS INTERNATIONAL CLASSICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL RECEIVES SILVER STEVIE AWARD!

 

Established and sponsored by the Doğuş Group, the D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival had been chosen the "Best Classical Music Event of the Year" in the 2012 Donizetti Classical Music Awards and had earned the "Regional Special Award" by Skalite Awards to D-Marin Turgutreis Marina in the same year. The D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival now received a "Silver Stevie" in the "Best Corporate Image Activity" category.

Established to support the development of classical music and bring the lovers of classical music together in Bodrum, one of Turkey's top tourist destinations, the D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival received another international recognition. As the first and only classical music event to take place in a marina, the Festival was awarded a Silver Steview in the "Best Corporate Image Activity" of the Steview Awards.

The Stevie Awards is one of the most prestigious organizations in the United States and received thousands of submissions from 60 countries since endowed in 2002. The D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival competed alongside 3500 other projects in its category this year.

Regarding the Silver Stevie Award of the D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival, Doğuş Group CEO Hüsnü Akhan said, "D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival became a reference event in its field in a short period of time. We held the 10th festival in the summer of 2014, and we are delighted by the increasing demand and great attention received by our event. The Stevie Awards were presented in a ceremony in Paris on Friday, October 10, 2014.

About the D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival

D-Marin Turgutreis International Classical Music Festival aims to support the development of classical music in Turkey and provide greater access of audiences to classical music events.

The festival is being held under the founding sponsorship of the Doğuş Group since 2005, at the D-Marin Turgutreis Marina.

The event is the first and only classical music festival to take place in a marina.

There were seven sunset and night concerts during four days in the 2014 edition of the festival, and there have been 77 concerts to date.

The Festival was attended by over 160,000 music lovers.

With Directors of Art Kemal Küçük for the first three and Yücel Canyaran for the next six years, the Festival hosted more than 3500 artists to date.

The Festival was admitted to European Festivals Association membership in 2009.

In 2012, the Festival was chosen "Best Classical Music Event of the Year" in the 2012 Donizetti Classical Music Awards organized by the Andante magazine, and earned D-Marin Turgutreis the "Regional Special Award" by Skalite Awards.

The entire proceeds of the Festival are donated to the Tohum Autism Foundation and the Bodrum Health Foundation for use in projects directed towards children with autism and their parents.

The Festival is expected to receive even more attention in the years to come, providing accessibility of classical music to a wider audience.
