Darüşşafaka Doğuş beaten by Dinamo Sassari

Dinamo Sassari 70 – Darüşşafaka Doğuş 66 (15-17; 17-14; 16-16; 21-19)

At the 3rd Geovillage Tournament, on the 5th September, Darüşşafaka Doğuş were beaten 70-66 in the semi final by home side Dinamo Sassari.

Darüşşafaka Doğuş, featuring a starting five of Redding, Gordon, Dudley, Harangody and Emir, led the first quarter 17-15 against Dinamo Sassari who would be their Euroleague Group D opponents as well.

Petway scored at two seconds remaining in the first half and Dinamo Sassari returned to locker room leading 32-31. Top scorers for Darüşşafaka Doğuş were Erwin Dudley and Luke Harangody each with 8 points.

At the third quarter, Darüşşafaka Doğuş didn’t let Dinamo Sassari to open the gap with Erwin and Redding scoring in the field. Home side led the quarter 48-47. At the early fourth quarter, Emir Preldzic scored behind the arc and Darüşşafaka Doğuş regained the lead. But they were behind again due to turnovers. Dinamo Sassari kept the lead with Logan’s free throws and managed to win the game 70-66. Darüşşafaka Doğuş’s top scorers in the game were Luke Harangody with 16 and Erwin Dudley with 12.
