Sustainable Contribution to Education Brought “3 KUMBARA” The Golden Compass

 

“3 KUMBARA” WON THE GOLDEN COMPASS IN THE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN EDUCATION CATEGORY

Organized by Doğuş Group in association with Para Durumu and the support of the Turkish Ministry of Education, the "3 Kumbara - Three Moneyboxes" Financial Literacy Program won the Golden Compass in the Education section of the Corporate Social Responsibility category in the 14th Golden Compass Awards given by the Public Relations Society of Turkey (TÜHİD). Speaking at the awards ceremony on Monday, May 25 at the Raffles Istanbul Hotel, Doğuş Group Social Projects Advisor and Financial Literacy and Access Society (FODER) Founding Chair Özlem Denizmen said, “In three years, we introduced key concepts like savings and budgeting to 246,000 students in 31 provinces over 3 years, educating them with fun courses to help them contribute to the economy at an early age. We are proud to be rewarded for our efforts. Our project aims to help 500,000 students gain financial literacy until the end of 2017."

Organized by Doğuş Group in association with Para Durumu and the support of the Turkish Ministry of Education, the "3 Kumbara - Three Moneyboxes" Financial Literacy Program won an award in the Education section of the Corporate Social Responsibility category in the 14th Golden Compass Awards given by the Public Relations Society of Turkey (TÜHİD) on Monday, May 25 at the Raffles Istanbul Hotel. The "3 Kumbara" Financial Literacy Program reached 246,000 fourth grade students in 31 provinecs in Turkey to teach them about budget, savings, and simple home economy rules that will help them to dream and achieve what they dream.

The program reached students in 31 provinces from Kahramanmaraş to Izmir, Diyarbakır and Kayseri, teaching them to "save, share and spend right" with separate moneyboxes for "saving," "sharing" and "spending," and taught them to use these moneyboxes wisely.

Doğuş Group employees volunteered in the project with the "Doğuş 3 Kumbara Volunteers" initiative started in April 2015, which is designed to improve employee loyalty within Group companies.

Speaking at the Golden Compass Awards Ceremony, Doğuş Group Social Projects Advisor and Financial Literacy and Access Society (FODER) Founding Chair Özlem Denizmen said, “We started the 3 Kumbara Financial Literacy Program in the 2*13-2014 school year to reach children all across Turkey, and we will continue to reach them. In three years, we introduced key concepts like savings and budgeting to 246,000 students in 31 provinces over 3 years, educating them with fun courses to help them contribute to the economy at an early age. We are proud to be rewarded for our efforts. Our project aims to help 500,000 students gain financial literacy until the end of 2017. The 3 Kumbara Financial Literacy Program will have visited all provinces by 2017."
