The "Stay in The Game" Platform By Darüşşafaka Doğuş Wins Three International Awards

 

Aimed to help young children avoid harmful habits and encourage them to play basketball, The Darüşşafaka Doğuş "Stay in the Game” Platform, founded 14 months ago, received 3 awards in the CSR International Excellence Awards. Having rebuilt 31 basketball courts and met with 10,000 children in Turkey to date, the project received its awards at a ceremony held in London on June 29th.

Led by the Şahenk Initiative and supported by Darüşşafaka Doğuş, Stay in the game offers a world of sports to children and has recently been awarded three awards in the CSR International Excellence Awards which is considered to be among the most prestigious in the world.

The platform received two gold awards in mass communication and corporate social responsibility, as well as a silver award in the corporate citizenship category putting the project among the 2015 CSR World Leaders. CSR World Leaders are featured in the 2015 CSR Universal Guide, an annual reference guide for corporate social responsibility that shares the examples of World Leaders contained in each edition.

About Stay in the Game:

Stay in the game has been active as a part of the Şahenk Initiative with the support of Darüşşafaka Doğuş since February 2014 with the mission of integrating sports into children’s lives. To this day the platform has rebuilt 31 basketball courts and met thousands of talented youths on its Roadshows. The platform hosted young talents from all over Turkey in the Darüşşafaka Doğuş Basketball Team's summer camp in 2014. Cooperating with the International Young Leaders Academy (IYLA), a project partner of UNICEF, and the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Policy in the spring semester of the 2014-2015 academic year, the platform visited 3 public shools per week to meet with 10,000 students in 37 public schools in Istanbul.
